Chapter 530 [Empire] Approaching
Chapter 530 [Empire] Approaching
...Even when approaching it, it was swallowed up by the black airflow, as if hitting the surface of the abyss, unable to stir up even the slightest ripple.
I gritted my teeth, my fingers practically leaving marks on the weapon's grip.
"Calm down." I said to myself, forcing myself to suppress my instinctive anxiety.
Meanwhile, Qianmo didn't stop. A slender energy blade appeared in his hand, its blade a pale blue and transparent, as if carved from ice. Vines sprouted wildly from his body, like countless nimble snakes, rapidly spreading across the ground and climbing over the metal debris in the ruins, using all the surrounding conductors to lay out energy circuits.
"Don't fight head-on!" Qianmo growled, "I'm going to try to guide its energy back to buy time!"
I immediately understood his intention and, with the rest of my team, began to deliberately distract the shadow. We repeatedly pulled the line, creating noise and disruptive attacks. Though exhausted, our team members gritted their teeth and persevered, each one knowing that if they fell, utter annihilation awaited them.
At this moment, the vines finally extended to the energy node at the shadow's feet. Blue lightning instantly flowed along the vines, seeping into the violent black airflow.
"Now!" He growled and suddenly thrust the energy knife in his hand into the ground.
boom!
Amidst a piercing explosion of energy, the shadow's body trembled violently, and the vortex of air began to loosen. The flickering "eye" hesitated, as if momentarily frozen. The oppressive feeling from the surrounding gusts of wind suddenly subsided for a moment.
"It works!" My eyes lit up, and I immediately controlled the weapon core to charge it to full power, aiming at the "eye" and launching a powerful attack.
The blue-green energy beam traced a graceful arc through the air, striking its target without deflection. The shadow let out a deep, numbing roar, its massive form losing its composure, showing signs of collapse.
However, it struck back the next moment. The shadow forcibly broke free from the vines laid by Qianmo, and the air currents swirled wildly, directly sweeping away several members who were slow to react!
"!!"
My heart suddenly tightened, and I was about to step forward to rescue him, but I heard Qianmo whisper, "Leave it to me."
His voice remained calm, but with a hint of stubborn edge.
He pulled out the buried energy blade with his backhand, and the vines immediately grew again, as if they had gained a new source of power, forcibly weaving a translucent energy barrier to protect the swept-up team members. He stepped forward, each step as steady as if he were treading on a lonely bridge on the verge of collapse.
"Stand back." Qianmo whispered to me.
But I didn't retreat.
I stared at the "eye" that was almost cracked by the energy impact, took a deep breath, and whispered back to him: "Together."
He tilted his head, his eyes briefly meeting mine, and he seemed to smile in the storm.
The next second, we attacked at the same time, almost as if by telepathy.
My "water gun" sprayed out a concentrated beam of light at full power, while Qianmo controlled the vines to wrap around the broken part of the black shadow. With the combined force of the two, they finally tore open the protective layer of the "eye" completely!
"Now!" I shouted.
--boom! !
The bright light engulfed the field of vision, and the black shadow let out a final wail, followed by a deafening explosion, before finally transforming into debris and scattered energy particles all over the sky.
Everything falls silent.
The air current dissipated, and sunlight shone through the smoke and dust. The air was filled with the scorching heat of the remaining energy. We were all in a state of disarray, unsteady on our feet, but there was a glimmer of survival in each other's eyes.
Qianmo retracted the vines, exhaled lightly, turned his head and looked at me, his eyes were light and deep: "Survived."
"Yeah." I nodded slightly, my face covered with sweat and dust, but a smile inexplicably appeared on my face.
But at this moment, I suddenly noticed something strange.
Deep in the core of the exploded black shadow, a slowly beating dark red light spot was quietly condensing.
