Chapter 337: Waltz Of The Demon.
Chapter 337: Waltz Of The Demon.
Valerian created a high wall around the tower. The wall was seamless and triangular. The people were surprised. The young man said, "Am I qualified to take the command now?"
The Warriors quickly jumped on top of the wall and observed the surroundings. Mahiyan said, "Valerian, although the walls will help, the situation will not be easy. I wonder what shall we do? Although a few of us have some experience in fights and battles. However, it will not allow us to fight against the warriors sent by the Tyrant. Those people are cruelly trained and have bathed in blood."
Valerian nodded and said, "Can you all at least take one person at a time? Or are you all just plane cowards?"
Mahiyan could sense his vexation. Valerian spat on the ground and said, "I will tell you all now, if any of you doubt to take a stand for yourself, then go and flee. However, I will inform the entire order about your desertion. Your honor and image, I will destroy it."
Suddenly, a wild mage said, "What can you do against so many of us? Do you think you are the strongest mage in the world, like your father?"
Valerian snapped his fingers, and seven orbs of elemental magic appeared around his head. He said, "Looks like I do have the skills. Would you like to come and test me?"
The people fell silent, and Valerian said, "The choice is yours whether you wish to fight, but I will make my stand here. The Tyrant may be invincible, but his dogs are just dogs."
The young man jumped high in the void, cast a few wind spells to lift his body, and set for the top of the tower. He looked around in the forest and cast a wood spell. The sight shocked everyone. The surroundings were filled with walls of intertwining vines. The heights were twelve feet high.
His figure flickered and appeared next to a warrior on the wall. Then he set magic traps all over the place. The warriors were confused when Valerian moved around in a quick set, and his hands glowed with different color lights.
The young man landed next to Mahiyan, who asked, "What did you just do?"
Valerian said, "You will know soon. I will open a few doors in the wall. You can guard these entrances and deal with the enemy who survives my attacks."
The people were surprised, and Valerian moved to the high ground again. This time he took out his Filum Vita and sat down with the instrument on his lap. Then, he waited.
...
In the woods, four people appeared in four directions around the wall. These four people were leading a few hundred men behind them. Their target was the tower of the Knight.
Just when they were slightly away from the location when they encountered a wall of vines, the leaders of the four contingents were both familiar and unfamiliar faces. These were none other than the hounds.
Akra, Imperium, and two ladies. They were connected with soul communication beads, and their actions were well discussed.
Imperium said, "This wall was not present here earlier."
Akra nodded and said the same thing. One of the ladies said, "It is not like the enemy is a fool. Haista and Calor are not responding to the messages, so it is safe to assume they have been discovered. I would say that the enemy is a cunning one."
Another lady said, "We have an opening in this wall, send in a warrior and have them survey what this place is."
The warriors followed the orders, and after a few minutes, they discovered the place was a maze. Imperium clicked his tongue and said, "It is not wise to dwell in a maze. It will just cause us to waste time. We shall move above the walls."
Everyone agreed with the suggestion, and they sent the warriors ahead. The warriors reported seeing a young man sitting atop the tower. The four people moved up, and Imperium and Akra said, "This bastard."
The two ladies were brilliant, and they understood that the young man in front of them was the one they were looking for. Imperium channeled the mana in his throat and said, "Valerian Divinus Magnus, your death has come."
The warriors caught the gist, and they rushed forward on the wall.
...
The people from the Knighthood shivered when they heard the loud noise. They all cast a gaze at Valerian on the top of the tower. The boy had been tuning his instrument as if he did not care about the warriors rushing toward them.
Mahiyan prepared his sword and said to the warriors, "Let us go and fight for our lives. Remember the code of mercy."
The warriors were still hesitating when they heard a robust musical note erupting in the surroundings. Some people were annoyed by Valerian’s antics, but the warriors on top of the wall were shocked. They had no idea what was happening, followed one another, notes erupted, and finally understood what was happening.
Valerian said, "You all get down the wall. You are delaying my actions."
The warriors rushed down, and the musical notes exploded. The warriors rushed down and told their fellows what was going on. One of them said, "His musical notes are akin to swords. The warriors rushing at us are being killed like slabs of butter."
Mahiyan opened his eyes wide and said, "What did you say?"
The man jumped up and saw a warrior decapitated in multiple sections in the distance.
...
Imperium was also rushing along with the warriors, clouding his mind with the rage and humiliation he suffered. However, soon he realized what was going on. The warriors ahead of him were treading quickly but were not reaching the enemy. Suddenly, he turned his head, and from the side, he saw the warrior decapitating in a blink.
His heart shivered, but a booming voice shocked him, "It is not my death that you need to worry about the dog."
Then a sharp, high-pitched note echoed in the void, and Imperium found the world revolving around before his consciousness drowned in eternal darkness. Akra and the two ladies watched this from the side and were shocked.
The lady said, "This kid is not easy."
Akra nodded and said, "He is a demon. Do not judge him by his appearance. Once he starts fighting, you will understand what I am talking about."
The ladies nodded and said, "This sort of death is meaningless. Send the warriors down the maze, have them find the correct way."
The warriors shifted their focus, and they moved between the walls. However, they were severely constrained in this maze. If someone as much as managed to brush against the wall, they would end up poisoned or paralyzed.
...
Valerian did not say much and kept on playing his instrument. He said, "Mahiyan, they are moving through the maze. Be ready."
The warrior nodded, and they all quickly moved to guard the entrance. Mahiyan was a Warrior and a grandmaster at that. He commanded the warriors, and one archmage took command of the mages. They were to attack with the warrior to share the burden and be efficient.
The opposition mainly consisted of warriors till now, and Valerian had already killed more than fifty people. Suddenly, Valerian looked at the horizon and said, "Hmmm, about time they charged up magic spells."
Valerian did not stop his hands, but he increased the affectivity of the music. The musical notes began to condense and collided with magic spells. Valerian produced a golden wave of mana from his music. This attack was an assimilation of all the magic elements.
Akra shivered when he watched the scene, he said, "I did not think he was such a high-level mage."
The ladies communicated and said, "We cannot just rush to our deaths. Regroup."
The people moved and quickly moved and the soldiers were told to fall back for the time being too. However, it was not that easy. The warriors inside the maze tried to pull back and Valerian’s voice sounded, "You all thought you could come and go as you like? This is not the Eastern Continent. This is the free world."
Then screams erupted from the maze. Akra shivered and his hair stood up on its ends. He gulped a mouthful of saliva and said, "I do not think any of them will be coming back."
The two ladies said, "We did not expect a child to be this strong."
Akra sighed and said, "Lady Mel, Lady Krel, what shall we do now?"
The two ladies were the witches. They looked similar to each other. The only difference was the color of their hair. Even the witch that Valerian had captured was similar to them. However, they had no idea where their sister was kept.
Suddenly, they heard a booming voice, "Oh, for the witches, I have a special gift for you all."
The witches jumped over the wall and saw Valerian holding their sister by her hair as she dangled in the void.
