Chapter 217: The Turmoil
Ji Tianzhuo was speechless, unsure of what to say. Lu Yu, however, came downstairs after hearing the noise, and his expression froze for a moment as he looked at them.
"Why are you here again?" He looked gloomy and not very happy.
Ji Meiqing walked towards him and said with a smile, "They just came to buy wine, nothing else."
"Really?" Lu Yu was in a bad mood, his eyelids were slightly drooping, and it was unclear whether he believed her or not.
Ji Meiqing was too lazy to deal with them anymore and directly told the shopkeeper, "Throw them out. From now on, they are not allowed to entertain any members of the Ji family without my order."
"Yes." The shopkeeper approached them with a smile. They had heard Ji Meiqing's words, but to say it so blatantly was really disrespectful to them.
Knowing he was angry, Ji Meiqing quickly tried to calm him down. Although she had never actually seen him angry, she imagined it must be quite frightening.
Moreover, she didn't like him being angry here.
The shopkeeper, urged on by a glance from Ji Meiqing, came to stand before him. With a gentle smile, he looked at Ji Tianzhuo and said, "Boss Ji, our boss's wife has already spoken. You should leave now."
"You really have such audacity."
"Get out." Lu Yu looked at him fiercely, his sword-like eyebrows raised, giving him a truly intimidating aura.
Ji Tianzhuo didn't believe he would actually make a move, so he laughed and argued back, "You really think I wouldn't dare to make a move? Let me tell you..."
Lu Yu immediately took action, twisting his wrist to the side.
Ji Tianzhuo was twisted in pain and unable to resist. Seeing this, the people around him immediately swarmed forward. Lu Yu's expression changed, and he grabbed Ji Tianzhuo's neck with his other hand and threw him towards the swarming people.
He was the young master of the Ji family, and they dared not hurt him; they were caught between a rock and a hard place.
Ji Meiqing watched them but didn't stop them, simply watching them leave. Lu Yu snorted coldly, his icy gaze sweeping over them.
The people lying on the ground were groaning incessantly. Ji Tianzhuo lay among the crowd, surrounded by people on both sides. He clutched his wrist, his face twitching with pain, it was unclear whether he had injured a bone or tendon.
Ji Meiqing looked at the people on the ground with a headache, then walked over to Lu Yu and asked cautiously, "Are you alright?"
"Get out of here!" he roared, standing before them with a dark face. Ji Tianzhuo, feeling the pain, had learned his lesson and quickly led his men away.
The area in front of the restaurant was quickly cleaned up. Ji Meiqing looked at Lu Yu, who still had a dark expression, sighed slightly, and reached out to stroke him.
"Don't be angry, it's nothing."
Lu Yu turned around, lifted his foot and walked forward, and Ji Meiqing quickly followed behind him with small, quick steps.
"Don't be too angry, okay? Getting angry will cause wrinkles and make you age faster..."
Lu Yu stopped and stood still. Ji Meiqing almost bumped into him, but fortunately she stopped in time and was only one centimeter away from him.
The person in front of her turned around, and Ji Meiqing looked at him in surprise. Ji Meiqing thought he was going to say something, but after a short while, he turned around again and continued walking forward.
Ji Meiqing paused for a moment, then quickly followed.
"A good drink can wash away all your troubles. Do you want some wine? That old man recommended a few jars of wine the other day. Would you like to try some? I heard it tastes pretty good."
Lu Yu remained unmoved and continued walking. Ji Meiqing could barely keep up, her breathing becoming rapid.
"Wait a minute, why are you walking so fast?" She jogged up to him and blocked his way. "I know you're angry right now, but can you please consider me? I'm so upset that I'm about to burst from trying to coax you."
"Let me have some peace and quiet."
Ji Meiqing stood there, stunned, not knowing what to say.
He just left like that, and Ji Meiqing stood there, watching him go without knowing what to do. She felt utterly helpless.
Lu Yu returned home, and Ji Meiqing followed behind, trying to find a way to appease him, but it seemed that she had nothing else to offer except fine wine.
Thinking about the old man's recommendation, it seemed that she had no choice but to try what he said. Ji Meiqing shifted her toes and turned to walk outside.
The wine he mentioned was quite common in the city, so she went and bought a few pounds of it, then took it back. Grandma Mei was about to speak to him when she saw him raise his hand, and she immediately shut up.
The jar in her hands was quite heavy, but she insisted on carrying it directly into the room.
Seeing that he was engrossed in his book, Ji Meiqing poured a bowl and placed it in front of him.
"Stop writing, want to try some?"
"Hmm?" He looked up from his book, his eyes already showing a hint of craving. It was amusing. Ji Meiqing pushed the book in front of him and said with a smile, "Try it. The old man recommended it. You're all fond of wine, so it should be about the same quality."
Lu Yu hesitated for a moment before taking it. He took a sip and, after careful tasting, found it quite good.
"It's delicious, isn't it?" she said with a fawning smile. "Are you still angry?"
Lu Yu glanced at her thoughtfully, then shook his head. Her previously expectant gaze dimmed, and she muttered, "Even this won't work."
Fine wine and kind words couldn't make him laugh. Ji Meiqing lowered her head and took the bowl back.
He took her hand, and Ji Meiqing looked at him in surprise, "Is there anything else?"
"Where are you going?"
"Go pour the wine. If you want to be alone, I won't bother you."
He took the bowl from her hand, placed it on the table, then pulled her hand, stood up, walked around the table, and stood in front of her.
Everything on the table was swept aside. Lu Yu lifted her up and sat her on the table. She looked back, and when she turned around, her lips met his kiss.
Ji Meiqing was taken aback, then smiled and put her hands behind his neck, hugging him tightly.
The taste of the wine reached her taste buds, slightly spicy yet with a sweet aroma. Ji Meiqing was almost losing her strength, and she was held in his arms to keep from falling.
When he released her, Ji Meiqing looked at him with hazy eyes. He smiled and pulled her into his arms, gazing tenderly at the person in his embrace.
"how is the taste?"
Ji Meiqing blushed slightly, not daring to respond. Lu Yu chuckled, "How does the wine taste?"
"Not bad." She nuzzled against his chest, her voice soft and almost coquettish as she asked, "Are you still angry?"
"Another point."
"Huh?" Ji Meiqing immediately got goosebumps, as if she hadn't heard him clearly, and almost shook him off. If it weren't for Lu Yu pulling him back in time.
