Chapter 496 - 495: Does He Still Want Me or Not?

Bea looked around the living room and said, "Bella, you’re not living here anymore?"

"I’ve been really busy lately, no time to come back." Bella Acker said, "Make yourself comfortable, I’ll go boil some water."

"What have you been busy with?" Bea asked.

Bella Acker paused, took the kettle to the kitchen to boil water, saying nothing.

Bea gently rubbed Ethan beside her and said softly, "Ethan, I need to talk to Bella. Can you wait for us in the living room?"

"Okay." Ethan nodded understandingly, took a picture book out of his little bag, and went to the coffee table to do his homework.

Bea glanced at him before heading to the kitchen.

Bella Acker washed the kettle clean and started boiling water, then asked, "Bea, what do you want to talk to me about?"

Bea hesitated for a moment and said, "It’s still about my brother. I want to ask you to go see him."

Bella Acker heard this, subconsciously clenched her hand at her side, and after a moment said in a low voice, "Didn’t you all prefer I didn’t see Damian anymore?"

"Yes." Bea admitted frankly, "I consider you a friend, but he’s my brother, so of course, I have a bias toward him. And I think he’s in too much pain being torn between things, it’d be better to end it cleanly. But I underestimated my brother’s persistence; he isn’t the kind to be easily influenced by others. Even though my mom is with him every day and has taken his phone, he hasn’t compromised."

"Has he made a decision?" Bella Acker asked cautiously, her voice trembling slightly, "Choose me, or not choose me?"

"I don’t know." Bea frowned, "Honestly, my brother’s been a bit scary lately, I don’t even dare to provoke him. My mom doesn’t let him go to the office, and as soon as he leaves the house, she cries and threatens to take her own life. So my brother has no choice but to stay home drinking every day, and it hurts me to watch."

Bella Acker lowered her eyelids, "Since Mrs. Sinclair is always by Damian’s side, how could I possibly see him?"

"Since I’ve come to ask you to meet my brother, I’ll naturally make arrangements." Bea said, "Bella, I’m here to know your feelings. Are you willing to see my brother?"

Are you willing to see Damian?

In times like these, when she’s exhausted from running around, is she still willing to see Damian?

The truth is, she probably is.

She really wants to throw herself into his arms and tell him Aunt Sienna is leaving, and soon she’ll have no more relatives.

She wants to say she’s so tired, sometimes when she lies in bed, she just wishes she could sleep and never wake up. But Aunt Sienna needs her care, Ethan needs her care too. She not only can’t collapse, but she has to act invulnerable.

If even she collapses, what will happen to Aunt Sienna? What will happen to Ethan?

But she’s really so tired, she desperately wishes there was someone who could give her a hug. Not to rely on, just a place where she can rest would be enough.

Bella Acker thought, finally nodding, "Okay, I’ll go see Damian."

"Alright, as long as you say so, I’ll make the arrangements, wait for my call tomorrow." Bea said, taking out her phone, "Oh, right, give me your phone number again, my mom deleted all the info related to you from my phone. And you, not even calling me once really." Speaking at the end, she seemed to be complaining that Bella Acker wasn’t being much of a friend.

She just didn’t know Bella Acker had been so busy lately that she hadn’t slept a sound sleep, let alone had time to call.
