Chapter 384: Team Battle.
Chapter 384: Team Battle.
Valerian was kept in the infirmary for three days and was not even allowed to go to the toilet alone. Captain had to accompany him. The young man did not know what to say about how these three ladies were acting like paranoids.
One of these days, Alan came to meet him and expressed his gratitude for saving his sister’s life. Valerian smiled and, after some small talk, sent him away. Shiba noticed something and asked, "Why do I feel you do not want to meet Alan much?"
Valerian sighed and nodded, "You know my story, right?"
The girl nodded, and Valerian said, "When I first saw his face, I thought of Mother Diligentia. This world has bought me to cross paths with the replicas of two people I cherish the most. I got entangled with Zen, and because of this, my impression of my mother began to influence me. I do not want to have the same thing again."
Shiba realized something and said, "This is why you never go inside the village and just camp out?"
Valerian nodded and closed his eyes before he leaned back against the headboard. The young man did not wish to continue the topic and asked, "What about the reconnaissance and the armory stocking?"
Shiba told him everything they had learned about the situation in the dungeon and the weapons they had taken from the Craftsmen guild. Valerian has developed a few hidden weapons with area control effects. The intention was to pass the time and help the craftsmen guild have some capital to deal with the huge number of dungeoneers.
The incident from three years ago has made things a little bumpy, but that was the truth. The fall of the Avion party had given birth to a group of people who thought that the Craftsmen guild was at fault. That they had no right to interfere in this clash. However, Valerian defeated all the people who came to find trouble inside and outside the dungeon.
...
After discharge, Valerian was allowed to go back home. None of the people gave in to his struggle to enter the dungeon. Viney had been scouting the situation, and now they had been called to retreat. The Chimera has evolved completely in these few days.
The thirty-fifth floor was now the new wild boss floor. Valerian was enraged and scolded everyone in the guild and his team for this. However, his words fell on empty ears. They locked him inside his room.
Valerian calmed down and rested for a bit. He did not reply when the people came to ask him for food or anything else. He kept staring at the wall. The sun fell, and the young man stood up to exercise. The biggest wound was on his back. Although it did not hurt much, the wound might open up and prevent his movements.
He looked around his room and found a set of artifacts he had created in his free time. He picked up the armor, and something clicked inside his brain. He smiled and began to procure a few weapons from the room.
The best quality shield and a pair of swords. His daggers and flying knives had been confiscated. However, he did not need those, and he still had a pair of brawler gauntlets in his store. He made these for Fortuna, wanting to return them as a gift. He changed into the armor and draped a black cloak around his body.
He walked up to the window and looked out. As expected, Captain was guarding the place. However, this was still not enough to stop him from leaving. He would kill that beast even if he had to fight his team.
Valerian slowly leaned out of the window and looked up to the roof. He did not see anyone, but the rustling sound from the top told him that Viney was responsible for defense too. The young man shook his head. Since he cannot avoid it, he should not avoid it.
After warming up his body, Valerian ran to the window and dived through it. Before he could reach the ground, a twang echoed.
Viney shot a blunt head arrow at him. The young man twisted his body in the void and avoided the arrow. The next moment, he landed on the ground but pushed against the ground on his feet to flip over the charging shield.
Another arrow approached him, and Valerian swung his sword to deflect it. The young man landed again but did not wait and rushed for the fence directly. Just when he was about to reach the fence, a calm voice sounded in his ears, and he retreated by three steps.
"Going somewhere?"
Shiba appeared on the other side of the fence, holding her sword. Valerian looked at the three of them and said, "If you are not going along with me, fine. But Do not stop me. That thing is not as simple as you might think."
Shiba shook her head and said, "We do not think this is a simple situation. However, you need rest. Did you forget your goal? If the creature is as strong as you say, will you not throw your life away?"
Valerian sighed and said, "Since you have decided to stop me, come on then? I will make my way at all costs. Just know this, I will not be pulling back my punches."
The people were surprised, and the next moment, the young man rushed forward at Shiba. The latter did not expect Valerian to be so decisive. She could see that his eyes had no hesitation in his eyes.
Just as he closed on Shiba, Valerian held the shield and turned around. The shield flew through the void and hit Viney, sitting on the rooftop. The impact made her scream as she lost her balance and fell down the incline.
The young man did not keep charging at Shiba anymore. He charged toward Captain, who was chasing him relentlessly. The next moment, he jumped into the void and stepped on the shield. He did not intend to kick her. He intended to use the sword as a jump pad. He contracted his muscles and concentrated the power at his toes.
The next moment, he pushed against the shield and shot at Shiba. He rode the momentum that Captain’s shove provided him. Shiba did not expect this. She wanted to slash her sword at him, but Valerian suddenly upheld his arm.
Shiba was shocked and hurriedly lowered her blade, or Valerian would have missed a limb. This compassion and hesitation took a great toll. Valerian attacked her with a lariat. The impact snuffed out all the air from Shiba’s lungs and consciousness out of her mind.
Valerian stood tall while Shiba lay on the ground, and the young man said, "Viney, tell her not to come after me. If she tried to stop me or act like my mother, I would leave the party and deal with everything alone."
When Shi Lang issued the ultimatum, Viney regained her balance and rubbed her shoulder. Then he hopped over the fence and rushed out of the house. He did not care about what the other people said. He wanted to kill that creature because this was his first defeat. He did not wish to carry this burden on his shoulder.
After battling his team, the young man went to the craftsmen guild. He said nothing to the people, took up weapons and armor, and entered the dungeon. He did not even take the wrap portal; he just went through the dungeon. The people recognized him, and they were scared. The young man was so ferocious that he did not stop as he killed the beasts.
He moved through the limbs and blood like a fish in water. The word spread Silver Knight has gone on a rampage. The city came alive as the dungeoneers charged to see what was happening. Prim was alerted, and she rushed to check the situation. Shiba and the rest also came to see him, but they did not rush to the thirty-fourth floor.
They did not have the heart to face him now. They understood that when Valerian wanted them to stand with him, they caged him like some feral beast, and when he told the people that the creature would evolve. The people did not heed his warning and did not tell him, but the few parties that ventured onto the floor were killed.
The only survivor they had was Miril and she was still unconscious. Valerian was venting his rage and disappointment by slaughtering the creatures in the dungeon. Shiba sighed and said, "I think we let him down."
The other two did not say anything, and Prims standing next to them sighed. She said, "We all did. He was not saying anything for his glory. He risked his life and we overlooked the details. We were too late to block the floor and even more, we sent in teams. They are all dead now. We failed him."
...
Valerian stood at the thirty-fourth floor and found several people guarding the entrance. He said, "Move, let me in."
