Chapter 353: Facing The Enemy.
Chapter 353: Facing The Enemy.
The eastern Tyrant stood facing a young man. The young man wore silver armor with a dragon engraved on his chest. His stalwart figure oozed vitality. Sharp eyes, yet calm breathing. As if a predator was gazing at his prey.
This sensation made his body tense up slightly. Tyrant did not like this feeling. He shook it off and asked, "Who are you?"
Valerian smirked and took off the helmet. He noticed how Tyrant’s pupils constricted for a moment and then dilated. The man was covered from head to toe in crimson armor, and only his eyes were visible. Valerian asked, "Are you excited to see me?"
Tyrant replied, "Indeed, to think you would come to meet me on your own accord. Either you are as naive as your father or brave as your mother. Do not worry, and you will end up like them too."
His words shocked the people behind him. After all, they only heard of Valerian’s existence and never saw him. They did not even know his name, but watching this man standing before their master, they realized that some people did not fear anything or anyone.
Valerian smiled and said, "Do you think I will be afraid of a coward? Your body is something that my father gave you. The same body that you used to murder him in cold blood. Should I be afraid of a pervert who had schemes for the pregnant wife of his best friend? I feel sorry for you, Tyrant Immortuous. I feel sorry for those who follow you, thinking you are a god.
Just because you gained more strength, do you think you are invincible? If you are a god, why don’t you remove your helmet? Let the world see the divine visage of a god. Huh, what say?"
Tyrant Immortuos glared at Valerian in rage and leaned forward slightly. He wanted to attack this boy. However, Valerian was quicker; with a flicker, he appeared behind the former.
Immortuous was not to be underestimated. He turned around and reached out to grab the neck of his enemy. Valerian ducked and avoided the hand. He cast a light flash spell to hinder his vision and vanished from his spot.
The next moment, people saw Valerian appearing in the void, inverted above Tyrant Immortuous, and his hands were grabbing the red helmet. The latter sensed all these actions, but Valerian quickly removed the helmet before vanishing.
Tyrant could only grasp air. He sensed the wind brushing his face, his hair fluttering with the wind. At this moment, Valerian’s voice sounded, "So, now you can decide if this is the appearance of a god or a hideous demon."
Tyrant’s face had two holes in the place of a nose. Compared with his red eyes, he did look like a demon from hell. At this moment, he stood facing his people, and the soldiers who were loyal to him were shivering. It was not an expression of agitation over the insult of their master but the fear that erupted from the depth of their hearts.
A general said, "What sort of bullshit is this? How dare you call our lord a demon? Bastard, I dare you to come to this side of the barrier and let me show you death."
Valerian chuckled and said, "Can you look into his eyes and say the same thing? I have to say that you are loyal to this demon. Tell me this since the face is not enough to make you all realize this guy is a demon. Is he an immortal?"
The general replied, "Yes, our lord is an immortal."
Valerian shook his head and said, "He is not an immortal, ignorant fool. He is half-immortal. Am I right? Coward Inferior."
Tyrant Immortuous was still in shock. However, the people on Valerian’s side were rejoicing. This was a big step toward victory for them. The young prince managed to take off the helmet and reveal the hideous face of the man. This was something that boosted the morale of the Western Army.
Morgana waved her hand, and the forces assumed formation. Vulcan was the infantry’s leader, while Centaur’s empress led the cavalry. She also donned silver armor with a long spear in her hand. She was not to be looked down on.
The two experienced generals held the army’s command, while other experts were given free rein to deal with the enemy experts. Fragrantia, Libra, and even Old Man Fallax came to participate in the war.
They were all looking at the young man standing before them, holding a sword. Valerian took out the weapon because his instincts told him Tyrant would not allow him to act cocky again.
In the back of the western military camp, Valerie stood with her hands joined as she prayed for Valerian’s safety. Behind her, Misericordia watched the tense scene and said, "The morale of the people is high, but so is the rage of Tyrant Immortuous."
Boo-too and the Holy maiden of the Clar-awks stood beside her and nodded. The Holy Maiden looked at Valerie and asked, "This child, is she praying for victory?"
The old saintess shook her head and said, "She does not care about victory or defeat. All that matters to her is Valerian’s safety. She is praying for his wellness."
Surprised, The holy maiden said, "Indeed, the heart of a child is the purest. If only adults could be the same."
Boo-too did not comment and said, "Here he comes."
...
Tyrant Immortuous turned around and attacked Valerian. He was holding a black halberd. Valerian could tell in one glance that this weapon was not common. He raised his sword, and after some resistance, the halberd ran through the blade’s cross-section like a hot knife through butter.
Valerian jumped back, released the broken ripple pattern sword, and took the pinewood sword from his magic pouch. He knew that dragon magic moved the enemy halberd through his blade.
Tyrant swung his halberd, accumulated momentum, and slashed again. The wooden sword blocked the attack this time, but the impact sent out a visible shock wave. Valerian sensed his feet sink into the ground. At this moment, a mana beam hit Tyrant from the side, followed by a voice, "Did you forget about me, Coward."
Fortuna dived down from the sky and changed her form upon landing. She was wearing armor matching Valerian’s, holding a big long spear. Her attack had made the Tyrant push back by a few ten meters. She walked beside Valerian and said, "You are not the only one with dragon treasures."
She stabbed her spear shaft into the ground and said, "Morgana, do it."
Morgana shouted, "Cavalry, Charge."
The next moment, the entire western continent cavalry charged ahead. The cavalry was made up of war horses and long spear-wielders. As soon as they moved, the ground trembled. Tyrant Immortuous roared, "For Gladius."
The scared soldiers suddenly picked up their spirits and rushed with loud war cries to meet the enemy. The soldiers were running directly toward Valerian and Tyrant. However, an invisible pressure made them circumnavigate around the two.
Tyrant Immortuous stood up and said, "So, you are the daughter of those two flying lizards? No wonder you think you can win me in a battle."
Valerian vanished from his spot and attacked Tyrant Immortuous from the left, while Fortuna stabbed him with a spear from the right flank. It was a pincer attack, but Tyrant jumped high to avoid it. Fortuna retracted her spear and swung it over her head. Valerian jumped into the void; his foot landed on the spearhead, which propelled him in an arch to intersect Tyrant Immortuous in the air.
Valerian was ruthless and decisive in his attack. His old pine wood blade stuck the Tyrant on his forearm, making the latter descend faster. As he landed on the ground, the man tilted his head to a side as a spear flew past his ear. Tyrant Immortuous realized that he was not fighting two kids. These guys were geniuses and were battle-hardened. Every attack they made was aimed at killing him.
Fortuna rushed up to the Tyrant and punched him, which the latter defended with a cross-arm guard. The impact pushed him ten feet back, and Valerian landed behind him. The young man did not care about landing on his feet. He twisted his body and stomped both his feet at the back of the Tyrant.
The impact sent the man flying while Valerian landed on his back. Tyrant did not seem to have much skill as the two beat him up in coordination. Fortuna completed the move as she hit Tyrant Immortuous with a big fireball.
The fireball was not to be taken lightly; it directly melted a few pieces of the Tyrant’s armor. Valerian and Fortuna regrouped. They were not relaxed because they knew the true battle had yet begun. Tyrant Immortuous was teasing them. The man stood up from the ground and said, "Ahh, you are stronger than your father Valerian. This will be fun."
Valerian and Fortuna stood shoulder to shoulder as they prepared to fight this guy.
