Chapter 339 Everything in the World Echoes in the Void
Noisy!
With a "bang", the copper bowl was thrown out of the study window.
Eight or nine days have passed since I got this bronze bowl.
Xiao Zizai finally reached his limit and could no longer bear it, so he wanted to throw away the bronze bowl.
But he tried many methods, such as burying it in the soil or throwing it into the water, but it didn't take long before the bronze bowl would mysteriously appear in front of him again.
He also tried throwing the cricket out of the copper bowl, or even stepping on it to death, but not long after, a new cricket would grow in the copper bowl.
There is never a moment in the twenty-four hours of a day when the ears are quiet.
Even though Xiao Zizai tried hard to calm himself down and avoid being disturbed, he ultimately failed.
Through this, he understood one thing, that is, it is not so easy to sit on the Buddha's throne.
Listening to all kinds of sounds in the world every day and not going crazy can only mean that Buddha is Buddha and Bodhisattva is Bodhisattva.
Xiao Zizai has been crazy for some time, but he is now mute and cannot make any sound, so his madness is calm.
Today, he was annoyed again and picked up the copper bowl and threw it out.
Although he knew that doing so would be useless.
Sure enough, not long after the copper bowl was thrown out, it inexplicably appeared on the table.
Irritable! Irritable! Irritable!
Xiao Zizai ran out wildly, ran to the lake, and sank himself into the lake.
But what is strange is that all kinds of sounds still come into the ears from all directions, making people feel suffocated.
Xiao Zizai's anger was surging in his heart and his emotions were out of control, which directly led to the disorder of Qi and breath. He spat out a mouthful of blood and fell into a coma.
But being unconscious could not end the pain. Xiao Zizai only felt that his soul had left his body and was floating towards somewhere.
When he was able to 'see' again, he found himself transformed into a Buddha statue, sitting in the palace.
The hall was packed with believers, all of whom were worshipping, and all kinds of voices kept ringing in their ears.
Xiao Zizai was very annoyed. He had had enough, but he seemed to have really turned into an immovable Buddha statue. He couldn't do anything and could only watch and listen, helpless.
The stars move and the sun rises and the moon sets.
Outside the hall, the seasons changed from cold to hot, and no one knew how much time had passed.
Xiao Zizai had become numb, his entire body had merged into one with the Buddha statue, and his heart had become as hard as stone.
No matter how many people came to worship him, no matter how many words and thoughts they expressed, they could not disturb him in the slightest.
He just lowered his eyes quietly, overlooking the people coming and going.
I don’t know how much time passed like this, but one day, dark clouds suddenly rolled in and thunder roared outside the hall.
It's raining.
It was pouring rain, and the sound of the rain was noisy.
Amidst the thunder and rain, a monk in yellow suddenly walked in from outside the hall, entered the hall indifferently, burned incense and worshiped.
Xiao Zizai watched quietly. Now any sight or sound could not cause any disturbance to him.
He has become a stone, a piece of cold steel, without emotion or desire, and not affected by any external interference.
After the yellow-robed monk finished his worship, he did not leave, but raised his head and looked at Xiao Zizai.
After looking at it for a while, the monk walked to the wooden fish, picked up the gong and began to beat it, while slowly chanting:
"The profound silence of thunder breaks all forms, and words cut through without leaving any trace."
"Picking a flower does not let the moon in the sky fall; the only way is to have one thought and realize the truth."
The Buddhist verses slowly entered his ears along with the sound of the wooden fish. Xiao Zizai's eyes moved, and his originally fixed gaze fell on the monk.
But strangely, he couldn't see the monk's face clearly. It was hazy as if covered by a layer of fog.
"When all is silent, the mind is self-illuminating, and the wordless sutra pervades the universe."
"If you ask Vimalakirti what his answer is, the wind sweeps the cold pond water without a ripple."
The Vimalakirti Sutra, Chapter 9: Entering the Non-Dual Dharma Gate, says: After the bodhisattvas had spoken in this way, they asked Manjushri, "What is the bodhisattva entering the non-dual Dharma gate?"
Manjusri said, "According to my understanding, there is no speech, no explanation, no demonstration, no knowledge of all dharmas, and no questions or answers. This is the way to enter the non-dual dharma door."
Then Manjushri asked Vimalakirti, "We have each spoken, and now you, sir, should tell me what is the way for a bodhisattva to enter the non-dual Dharma door?"
At that time, Vimalakirti remained silent.
Manjusri sighed and said, "Excellent! Excellent! Even without words or language, this is the true entry into the non-dual Dharma door."
When the chapter on entering the non-dual Dharma door was being spoken, the five thousand bodhisattvas in the assembly all entered the non-dual Dharma door and attained the dharma-patience of non-birth...
After the monk finished reciting the Buddhist verse, he suddenly threw the Jianzhichao out of the hall.
Jianzhi fell to the ground, and instantly there was a thunder in the sky.
The thunderbolt seemed to fall right beside Xiao Zizai's ears, shaking his originally empty and silent mind into a raging storm.
In his eyes, a ray of light pierced the long silence.
Xiao Zizai returned to his body, and the scene before him spread out like ripples and shattered like a mirage in the water.
The lake water poured into Xiao Zi's nostrils, and he was startled. He held his breath and swam out of the water quickly.
Rumble!
There were lightning and thunder in the sky, and heavy rain hit the water surface, stirring up a cloud of mist.
Xiao Zi took a deep breath of fresh air, lay on his back on the water, and let the rain fall on his face.
Close your eyes, and you can no longer hear any worldly noises in your ears, only the thunder echoing.
Xiao Zizai opened his mouth, his chest heaving, feeling the vibration of thunder and lightning between heaven and earth.
Boom! (Thunder)
what!
Boom!
what!
……
Whenever thunder exploded, Xiao Zizai would gather his Qi and harmonize with the sound of thunder in the sky.
Finally, after nine times, the sound of a drum sealed in dust finally broke.
"Roar!!!"
The lion roared, the sound shook the sky and scattered the raindrops falling from the sky.
The lion's roar and thunder resounded through heaven and earth.
At this moment, a cricket jumped out from the shore, tapped a few times on the water surface, and turned into a golden light that sank into Xiao Zizai's ears.
Zen Master Liu Ji walked out of the forest with his alms bowl and came to the lake. “The sound of the copper bowl faded, the sound of thunder rose, a cricket carried Mount Sumeru on its back. I cannot write the word ‘scolding Buddha’, just listen to Kasyapa’s cry as his bowl broke.”
"Junior brother, why don't you come ashore? Do you want me to rescue you?"
Xiao Zizai raised the corners of his mouth slightly, slapped the water with his palm, his body rose up, and then flew straight to the shore.
"Thank you, Senior Brother, for enlightening me."
"Amitabha~" Zen Master Liu Ji bowed with one palm, "Junior brother, you have your own wisdom. Even without me, it is only a matter of time before you awaken."
Xiao Zizai remained silent. If it weren't for Master Liu Ji's help this time, he didn't know how long it would take him to wake up.
"Well, there are still four levels waiting for you, Junior Brother. Are you willing to continue?"
Xiao Zizai clasped his hands together and said, "Now that we have begun, we will not turn back until we achieve our goal."
Although I was tortured severely, since I had already started practicing, how could I give up halfway?
Otherwise, wouldn’t all the previous sins have been in vain?
Zen Master Liu Ji smiled and nodded: "Junior brother, as long as your heart is firm, it's good. This time, take a two-day break and we will take our time later."
"it is good."
Zen Master Liu Ji knocked the copper bowl in his hand, and the sound of the bowl rippled. In an instant, the clouds and fog in the sky cleared up, and the thunder disappeared and the rain stopped.
The bright sunshine sprinkled on the lake, and the two figures disappeared together among the bamboo shadows.
