Chapter 197: Reject Her For Me
Chapter 197: Reject Her For Me
Scarlett’s POV
I couldn’t understand this. They had marked mates back home. They had married and marked other ladies three years ago, so how could I possibly be their mate? But I didn’t have time to dwell on that, because the shock in the room snapped instantly into pure, dangerous fury.
Liam turned sharply toward his brothers, his eyes flashing a deadly gold as he snarled at them. "What the hell did you two just say?"
Each brother had spent the last five years believing I belonged to him, and him alone.
"Scarlett has been my mate since she turned eighteen," Leo said, stepping closer to me, his chest heaving. "I knew it from the start. She belongs to me."
"Are you out of your mind?!" Leonard roared, his claws expanding as he shoved Leo back. "She is my mate! I felt the bond the moment she turned eighteen. You are lying!"
"Both of you shut the fuck up!" Liam bellowed, his Alpha aura exploding so violently that the floorboards cracked under his boots. "She is mine! I am her only mate, and if either of you touches her again, I will tear you apart. It is a lie! You are both lying!"
The three brothers circled each other like rabid wolves, their lips curled back over their fangs. The air was thick with possessive madness. They were ready to fight to the death over me.
Suddenly, Liam snapped his head toward me, his face desperate. "Scarlett, say something! Tell them they are crazy! Tell them you are mine!"
My mind was spinning, my heart hammering against my ribs. I looked at the three of them and asked the one question that had been burning in my soul. "I... I thought you men married. I thought you marked your wives."
Leo let out a frustrated, breathless laugh, running a hand through his dark hair. "We didn’t mark anyone, Scar! We never touched them. That was fake! We only did it for the pack, but our wolves never accepted them."
My eyes widened to the size of saucers. My stomach dropped into a bottomless pit. "Does... does that mean we are still mates?"
Panic hit me like a physical blow. The prophecy. The curse. My five years of running, my simple life in China, my ultimate sacrifice—it was all completely useless. They hadn’t broken the bond. They hadn’t moved on.
"Scar, what the hell is going on here?" Leonard demanded, stepping toward me with a wounded, confused expression. "Explain this to us. You are my mate. Only me."
"Fuck off, Leonard! I am her mate alone!" Liam roared, reaching out to grab my arm.
"No!" I cried out, backing away from all three of them until my spine hit the wall. The truth was tearing through my chest, and I couldn’t hide it anymore. I looked at their burning, possessive faces.
"Liam... Leo... Leonard..." I whispered, my voice trembling as tears streamed down my face. "You three are my mates. All of you. I am mated to all three."
"What?!"
The word left their throats at the exact same time. It wasn’t just a question—it was a collective roar of complete denial. The possessive, heavy Alpha energy in the room froze instantly, replaced by a suffocating shock.
"Yes," I choked out, a sob catching in my throat as I pressed my back harder against the wall. "It is the truth. I knew you three were all my mates on my twentieth birthday."
Liam scoffed, taking a step back as if he had just been hit in the chest. He shook his head, a dark, bitter laugh escaping his lips. "You must be kidding me, Scarlett. This is a sick joke."
"No, Liam, I am not kidding," I whispered, tears blurring my vision as I looked at his pale face.
"Never!" Leonard shouted, his voice cracking with a sudden, deep terror. He grabbed his hair with his blood-stained hands, his chest heaving up and down. "No! Never! This cannot happen... history cannot repeat itself!"
I knew exactly what he was talking about. I knew he was referring to his parents.
"I can’t share you," Leonard growled, his eyes turning a sharp, wild gold as he glared at his brothers. The vulnerability in his face disappeared, replaced by a terrifying, primal greed. "I will not share you with my brothers!"
"You won’t have to," Liam snapped, his voice dropping into a deadly, ice-cold pitch. He turned his giant body around to face Leonard and Leo, his fists clenching. "Because she is mine. I am the firstborn. She belongs to me."
Leo, who had been relatively quiet, let out a vicious snarl that didn’t sound human at all. He stepped up right into Liam’s face, completely ignoring the fact that Liam was at the verge of exploding.
"I don’t give a fuck about your firstborn position, Liam!" Leo screamed, his Alpha aura flaring up to fight Liam’s pressure. "She is mine! I am not giving her up to either of you. Both of you need to reject her right now!"
"Reject her?!" Leonard roared, completely losing his mind at the suggestion. He lunged forward, grabbing Leo by the collar of his shirt and slamming him sideways into a pillar. "Are you fucking insane, Leo? You want me to sever my fated bond? You reject her! Break your link right now and step the fuck back!"
"Get your hands off him, and both of you get away from my mate!" Liam bellowed.
Liam didn’t hesitate. He grabbed Leonard by the shoulder and threw him across the room. Leonard crashed hard into Chen’s leather couch, breaking the wooden frame into splinters. Within a single second, the three brothers completely turned on each other.
The room exploded into pure, animalistic chaos. They weren’t acting like brothers anymore. They were three supreme predators fighting over a single piece of territory.
"Reject her, Leonard!" Leo screamed, jumping back to his feet with his fangs fully bared, his face covered in rage. "You are the youngest! Yield to us and break the bond!"
"I will die before I reject her!" Leonard yelled back, wiping blood from his lip as he circled Liam. "Liam, you don’t even love her! Reject her!"
"Shut your mouths!" Liam’s voice was like thunder, shaking the very foundation of the estate. He stood in the center, his eyes glowing so brightly they looked like twin suns. "Neither of you will ever touch her. I command you both to reject Scarlett immediately! Cut the bond, or I’ll paint the walls of the house with your blood."
I covered my mouth with both hands, watching in absolute horror.
