Chapter 88: Being Recruited
Chapter 88: Being Recruited
Doukou got anxious and stepped forward to scold Huanian.
"Cardamom...!"
Hua Nian called out "Dou Kou" with embarrassment.
"I think Doukou is right! Hua Nian has made the decision."
Huan Ruge continued speaking to Huan Nian.
"OK then!"
Hua Nian reluctantly agreed.
"With two elven friends backing us up, what's there to be afraid of, whether it's climbing mountains of knives or plunging into seas of fire? Let's go in!"
Huan Rugo suddenly felt safe and confidently prepared to enter the Xiangsi Pavilion.
"Doukou, let's go inside! Prepare bath water for Huanhuan."
Hua Nian said to Dou Kou.
"Okay...! Let's go, Hua Nian."
Doukou said to Huanian.
Just as the three were happily preparing to enter the Pavilion of Longing, Huan Ruge was repelled by the pavilion's magic. She collapsed to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
"There's a formation, sister, are you alright?"
Cardamom flew over immediately.
"Sister Huanhuan, are you alright?"
Hua Nian also flew over nervously.
"I'm fine... what happened...?"
Huan Rugo clutched her chest and asked Huan Nian haltingly.
"Who dares to trespass into the Pavilion of Longing...?"
From within the formation came a woman's aggressive voice.
"Oh no, it's Madam Jiu...? What should we do...?"
Doukou said to Huanian.
"Why is Madam Jiu in the Lovesick Pavilion...? Didn't the master explicitly forbid Madam Jiu from entering the Lovesick Pavilion? Didn't the Drunken Old Man just say that Madam Jiu went out for a stroll? What's going on...?"
Hua Nian said to Dou Kou.
"Who is this Madam Jiu you're talking about...?"
Huan Rugo's face was deathly pale. She clutched her chest, wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, glanced at Doukou, and then at Huan Nian.
"It's Madam Jiu...!"
Doukou replied to Huanruge's words.
"Who is Madam Jiu...?"
Huan Rugo clutched her chest and stood up. She continued to press Doukou for answers.
"We don't know how to explain it to you...?"
Hua Nian said to Huan Ruge with great difficulty.
"What do we do now? I'm not going to just die here for no reason!"
Huan Rugo's heart sank to the bottom; she suddenly felt as if she could see the end from the beginning.
"Don't worry! Huanian won't let anything happen to you. Although Madam Jiu might not listen to us, it's not her place to decide what to do with your love. Doukou, go and inform the master quickly...!"
Hua Nian stared at Xiangsi Pavilion with a serious expression.
"Okay, I'll go right away."
Doukou nodded hurriedly and turned to fly to find Lin Yin.
"Doukou, where do you want to go...? To tell on me?"
An orange spell emanated from the Acacia Pavilion, forming a barrier that trapped Huanruge and the others.
Lin Yin, on a small bamboo raft in the middle of the lake, smelled the scent of Huan Ruge's blood.
"Oh no, something's happened...?"
Lin Yin appeared in front of Huan Ruge in a flash, and with a gentle wave of his hand, he destroyed the barrier that was trapping Huan Ruge.
"You dare touch my people...?"
Lin Yin stared at the woman inside the Xiangsi Pavilion with hostility.
"Lin Yin, you're back...?"
The woman inside the Acacia Pavilion became much more composed, her tone much gentler. She asked Lin Yin.
"...!"
Lin Yin stared intently at the woman inside the Xiangsi Pavilion.
"What? You've grown wings...? I can't touch your people now...?"
Lady Jiu continued to tease Lin Yin.
Suddenly, Madam Jiu appeared before the Xiangsi Pavilion. She looked to be about 25 years old, seven or eight years older than Huan Rugo. She wore a red inner lining and a white outer lining, exuding a very domineering aura. There were two red dots on her forehead, and she held a palm-leaf fan. She leisurely fanned herself with the fan and gave Huan Rugo a cold look.
