Chapter 219 Awakening of Perception
Chapter 219 Awakening of Perception
As the sun rose, its soft rays pierced through the thin clouds, bathing the vast and tranquil Spirit Plant Garden of the Heavenly Heart Sect in a golden glow. Ye Lan, dressed in a light blue robe that fluttered gently in the breeze, looked like a fairy descending to earth. She stood in the center of the garden, her gaze tenderly sweeping over the group of energetic and curious new disciples before her.
"Students, today we will embark on a brand new journey of cultivation, exploring the wondrous world outside the human body—the perception, Qi, and energy outside the human body. This is the third and most important system in our cultivation system." Ye Lan's voice was clear and melodious, like a clear spring flowing in the mountains, slowly echoing in the air.
The disciples' eyes gleamed with excitement and anticipation as they whispered among themselves, discussing the wondrous lessons that were about to unfold. Yi Chen tilted his head back slightly, taking a deep breath of the fresh morning air. His nostrils flared slightly; he could feel the faint, vibrant energy permeating the air, and his heart was filled with a longing for the unknown. Meng Li followed closely behind Ye Lan, her eyes filled with a mixture of nervousness and curiosity. Her hands clenched unconsciously, trembling slightly, a mixture of anticipation and fear of failing to grasp the mysteries of extracorporeal energy.
Ye Lan gently raised her hand, signaling everyone to be quiet. She slowly closed her eyes, and a faint silver light emanated from her body, soft and mysterious, like stars twinkling in the night sky. As the light shone, the surrounding spiritual plants seemed to be summoned by some mysterious power, their branches and leaves swaying slightly and making a rustling sound.
"Everyone, close your eyes, relax your mind and body, let go of all distractions, and let your consciousness blend into the surrounding environment like a gentle breeze," Ye Lan guided softly. "Feel the warmth of the sunlight on your body, the gentle breeze on your cheeks, listen to the birds singing and the whispers of the leaves, and perceive every little detail of this world."
The disciples closed their eyes, diligently following Ye Lan's instructions. At first, the world seemed utterly silent, save for the occasional sound of wind and birdsong. But gradually, some perceptive disciples began to notice subtle changes in their surroundings. Yi Chen felt as if countless tiny energy particles were gently touching his skin, a tingling, numbing sensation that made his heart race slightly, his excitement overflowing. Meng Li, on the other hand, seemed to hear a faint buzzing sound, seemingly coming from all directions, yet also from the depths of her heart. Her brow furrowed slightly, her face showing focused concentration as she tried to discern the mysterious sound.
“Now, focus your attention on the energy field around you. Imagine these energies as flowing streams that surround us and nourish all things,” Ye Lan continued to guide. “Try to touch these energies with your mind and feel their flow direction and intensity.”
The disciples were completely focused, striving to extend their mental focus. Xiaofeng's forehead was covered in fine beads of sweat; his eyes were tightly closed, his brow furrowed, as if he were engaged in a difficult battle. Suddenly, he felt a faint flow of energy gently brush past his fingertips, like the first breeze of spring, carrying a touch of warmth and vitality. His eyes snapped open, gleaming with surprise, and he shouted, "I feel it! There's energy flowing between my fingers!"
Ye Lan smiled and nodded, her eyes full of approval: "Very good, Xiaofeng. This is your initial perception of the surrounding energy field. Everyone has the potential to perceive external energy. As long as we feel it with our hearts, we can discover this wonderful world hidden around us."
Encouraged by Xiaofeng, the other disciples tried even harder. A tense yet exciting atmosphere filled the Spirit Plant Garden as everyone immersed themselves in exploring the energy.
“Next, we’re going to try interacting with external energy using our minds,” Ye Lan said, gently picking up a tender green leaf from the ground and placing it in her palm. She closed her eyes, concentrated her mind, and saw the leaf begin to tremble slightly, as if being gently touched by an invisible hand.
The disciples' eyes widened, their faces filled with surprise and envy. They couldn't wait to try it, so they picked up leaves from the ground and, following Ye Lan's method, concentrated their minds, trying to make the leaves in their hands move.
Ling'er's hands trembled slightly as she stared intently at the leaf in her hands, silently reciting the method Ye Lan had taught them. However, the leaf remained motionless, and a look of frustration crossed her face. Just as she was about to give up, she suddenly felt a faint force travel from her fingertips to the leaf, causing it to tremble slightly. Her eyes lit up, and she jumped up excitedly: "I did it! I made the leaf move!"
The surrounding disciples cast envious and admiring glances, and cheers and applause rang out in the Spirit Plant Garden.
"You've all done a fantastic job!" Ye Lan said with a smile. "This is just the beginning. As your cultivation deepens, you will be able to interact more deeply with external energy, and you may even be able to use this energy to improve your cultivation level."
"Elder Ye, how can we better utilize external energy to improve our cultivation?" Yi Chen raised his hand and asked, his eyes gleaming with a thirst for knowledge.
Ye Lan smiled and replied, “This requires us to constantly cultivate and gain insight. For example, at sunrise, facing east, we can absorb the pure energy of heaven and earth, allowing this pure energy to flow into our bodies and nourish our spirit; on a full moon night, we can use the gentle energy of the moonlight to meditate and cultivate, which can make our minds more peaceful and enhance our ability to perceive and control energy. This is similar to the principle in traditional Chinese medicine of following the natural order, adjusting the body according to different times and environments. Our cultivation also needs to follow the laws of nature and use external energy to improve ourselves.”
"Elder Ye, what is the connection between these energies we sense and the meridians and blood in our bodies?" Mengli asked curiously.
Ye Lan patiently explained, "The external energy we perceive is interconnected with the meridians and qi and blood within our bodies. External energy can enter our bodies through the meridians, replenishing and nourishing our qi and blood; while the abundance of qi and blood and the unobstructed flow of the meridians within our bodies also help us to better perceive and absorb external energy. This is like a circulatory system, where internal and external energies exchange and promote each other. Just like the holistic concept in traditional Chinese medicine, the human body and the external environment are an organic whole. Only when the internal and external are coordinated can we achieve the best state of spiritual practice."
The disciples listened intently, nodding occasionally to show their understanding. They gained a deeper understanding of the wonders of the external human body system and were filled with confidence and anticipation for their future spiritual practice.
"That concludes today's lesson. Everyone should continue practicing after you return home, constantly improving your ability to perceive and control energy," Ye Lan said with a smile. "Remember, there are no shortcuts on the path of cultivation. Only through continuous effort and exploration can you grasp its true essence."
The disciples bowed to Ye Lan, then left the Spirit Plant Garden with a heart full of accomplishment and excitement. Their faces radiated anticipation and longing for their future cultivation, as if they could already see themselves shining brightly on their path. Ye Lan watched their departing figures, her eyes filled with satisfaction and expectation. She knew that these young disciples would continue to grow on their cultivation journey, exploring more mysteries about the human body and external energy.
