Chapter 118 Red Panda
Chapter 118 Red Panda
The two originally thought they could play with the red panda forever, but they didn't expect that the red panda would be taken away by the staff half an hour later.
Without the red pandas, there was no fun. They got up early, fiddled with taking pictures for a long time, and were already exhausted, so they decided to take a nap before going out to visit other places.
Ming Shisui had already fallen asleep, but Yu Ru was still asleep. She sat beside the bed, holding her phone, wondering whether she should send a photo she had just taken to Yun Jixing. She felt embarrassed to show it to him, but she seemed to want to show it to him.
While she was struggling, Yunjixing's message came first.
"Aru, are you up? What are you doing? Have you seen any small animals?"
This message gave Yu Ru inexplicably courage. After hesitating for more than ten seconds, she sent Yun Jixing a picture of herself holding a red panda. After the photo was transferred, she immediately turned off her phone, ignored his reply, and lay down next to Ming Shisui and fell asleep.
Yunjixing on the other side received the photo, clicked to enlarge it and looked at it, and his expression was stunned for a moment.
He knew where Yu Ru went and which hotel she stayed in, but he didn't know which area of the hotel she lived in. Unexpectedly, the area where she lived was the terminal station in her previous life.
After Yu Ru fell ill, he put aside all his work and focused on accompanying her during her treatment.
But it was too late, and there was almost no possibility of cure. Yu Ru stopped receiving treatment after two weeks. She said the treatment was too painful and she didn't want to be treated and wanted to die with dignity.
Later, he took her to travel around the country and visited most of the beautiful land. Because she loved animals, he took her to Africa, where they lived for a short period of time and watched animal migration almost every day.
A few days before leaving Africa, Yu Ru suddenly became very energetic and spoke with much more force. They talked a lot during those nights.
“Twinkle, twinkle little star, the sky is full of little stars…” Yu Ru lay on the bed and sang with her eyes closed, curled up in Yun Jixing’s arms.
"Little Star, you have a great name. There's even a song dedicated to you."
"Isn't yours very good too? Yu Ru, Ru Yu, says you are a piece of precious jade, a great treasure." Yun Jixing hugged Yu Ru tightly, with his face against her head.
Yu Ru got out of his arms again and reached out to touch his face, "What about my brother, Yu Lai, what do you mean? Explain it to me."
Yun Jixing smiled, "I don't know about that."
"Don't you have any idea at all?"
"Well... the jade in Yutong's jade pendant is valuable. My eldest brother's name is 'Lai'. I guess my parents want jade to enter the family, which means a lot of money. You two brothers and sisters are both jade, so doesn't that mean there are two pieces of jade in the family, to make a fortune?"
“Hahahaha…” Yu Ru burst into laughter after hearing this.
They stopped talking and just looked at each other.
After a long while, Yun Jixing said, "Aru, now that you're home, is there any place you want to go? I'll take you there."
"I want to go see the red pandas. You know that hotel where the red pandas come in?"
"Okay, then we'll stay at that hotel when we get back."
"After we finish playing there, take me home. I want to see my family."
"Okay, I'll do whatever you say. I'll take you wherever you want to go."
Their destination upon returning home was directly the city where the Red Panda Hotel was located.
When she got there, Yu Ru was even more energetic than when she was in Africa.
"Little Star, I'm so excited. I just saw a red panda walking outside. It might come to our place." Yu Ru jumped up and down on the bed.
She was too thin, as thin as a bamboo pole. Yun Jixing was afraid to see her do something big, for fear that she would hurt herself. Seeing her jumping around like this, he quickly walked up to her and reached out to pull her, "Aru, be careful, don't fall."
"How can it be so easy?" Yu Ru said this but still didn't jump again.
"Aru, please sit down and wait. I'll go get the camera. By the way, it's time for you to take your medicine. I'll make it for you."
"Ok."
Yu Ru didn't move, she just sat on the bed and watched Yun Jixing take the camera and brew her medicine. After a while, her eyes turned to the large patch of lush plants outside the window.
A strange feeling suddenly surged into her heart. She couldn't help feeling sad, and the light in her eyes dimmed. She had a premonition that her end might be near.
Yun Jixing prepared the medicine and brought it to her, but she didn't drink it and put it aside. "Shan Yuan, my mouth tastes so bitter. Drink it later."
Hearing her address, Yun Jixing's heart sank, as if he was worried.
With a smile on his face, he sat down next to her, "Aru, are you feeling bitter, or do you want to eat some snack cake?"
Yu Ru also smiled and got into his arms and lay down, "I really have a bitter mouth, you kiss me and I'll know."
"Okay."
Yun Jixing immediately kissed her lips and wanted to separate after just one kiss, but Yu Ru held his head to prevent him from leaving. She kissed him back very hard, as if she wanted to eat him alive.
"Aru, why is it so sudden? What are you talking about? You will get better, and I will not marry another wife. Perfect love is that we only have each other, how can there be someone else?" Yun Jixing grabbed Yu Ru's hand.
He held her hand tightly and kissed it. "Really, I feel you will be fine. You ate a bowl of rice for three meals a day yesterday, and you slept well at night. This is a sign of improvement. As long as a person is still alive and can eat and sleep, he can still live."
He didn't know whether he was saying this to comfort Yu Ru or to deceive himself. By the end, his eyes were already filled with tears.
Yu Ru stroked his face and replied, "Shan Yuan, listen to me. Yes, I told you before that I am a fantasist. I want perfect love and unchanging sincerity. I definitely want to completely occupy you. I don't want you to like others, even if you want to. But you are still quite young. Now you have finally made a comeback and can live a carefree life. How can I force you to live a dull life for me?
Psychological needs, material needs, and physiological needs are all needed in life. If one of them is missing, life will be difficult. When you remarry, it means that you have completely changed your mind, or in other words, you are no longer the little star who swore to be loyal and unswerving.
Although I feel heartbroken and miserable when I think of all this, I think that you change your ways and I love mine, and these two are not contradictory. I love you, and I hope you are happy and live a comfortable life, so I don't want to tie you down.
I think that if you love someone, you must never mistreat that feeling or mistreat that person. You must love generously and tolerantly, even if it is not worth it, even if the other person has changed and no longer loves you as much. In this way, you can have a clear conscience about everything and leave happily. If you have loved someone sincerely, you can let go with a clear conscience. "
"No, no, no..." Yun Jixing shook his head desperately, his throat choked and he couldn't utter complete words.
Yu Ru ignored his words and said to herself, "Don't be sad, really, and don't blame yourself. I have never blamed you or hated you. You have done nothing wrong to me. I feel very happy and joyful to be with you. It is because I feel that you are good to me that I allow you to marry a second wife. Otherwise, I would definitely not allow it and would beat you, scold you, and even curse you."
After a pause, she continued, "Although I will die before I even live half of my life, life and death are determined by fate, and there is nothing to resent. Whether a person's life is worth living is not determined by how old he lives, but by what he has experienced and done. I think I have experienced enough, and I have done everything with a clear conscience, so this life is worth living. I am not in pain because I am a short-lived person, I just regret that there are still many things I haven't done with you, many promises I have not fulfilled, and many expectations of my family for the future that I have not yet met. Promise me that you will help me take good care of my family."
"Aru, Aru...you will be fine, think more positively, okay?" Yun Jixing couldn't help but cry out in pain and hugged Yu Ru.
Yu Ru leaned on him, looked towards the window, and saw a red panda.
"Okay, I'll be fine. I won't talk nonsense anymore. The red panda is here."
Yun Jixing turned around and saw that it was indeed a little panda. He let go of Yu Ru and let her hold the little panda while he went to cut the apple.
He gave the cut apples to Yu Ru and asked her to feed them to the red panda, then went to get a camera to take a picture of her.
"Aru, I'm taking a picture of you, look at me here."
Yu Ru held the red panda in her arms. The severe pain in her body made her hands tremble uncontrollably. In addition, she had just jumped up and down on the bed, and she now had a very real feeling that her organs were slowly breaking apart.
She felt dizzy from the pain, but she still smiled and turned back to look at Yun Jixing, "Don't take the camera, use your phone, it can take dynamic photos, the kind I want to capture."
"Okay." Yun Jixing put down the camera and switched to his mobile phone to take pictures.
Yu Ru's eyes were half closed, her gaze fixed on his face, her mouth moved slightly a few times, and the next moment, her body fell straight onto the bed.
"Aru!"
This was the last photo he took of Yu Ru. Because it was a dynamic photo, it also contained the last words Yu Ru said to him. He recognized that she said, "I love you."
……………………I am the dividing line……………………
Continuing from the dividing line of the previous chapter.
While searching for information about the Lisu people, I discovered some other intangible cultural heritage.
Wheat straw embroidery: As the name suggests, wheat straw is used as thin thread for embroidery and painting. Its origin is closely related to Yao Yijia, a resident of Shuitang Street Community in Zhenru Town.
As the inheritor of Shanghai's intangible cultural heritage - straw painting, Yao Yijia has made outstanding contributions to the inheritance and innovation of straw embroidery. Yao Yijia's straw painting skills have been recognized as Shanghai's traditional arts and crafts skills, and Zhenru straw painting has also become an intangible cultural heritage of Putuo District. Yao Yijia is currently the only inheritor of Zhenru straw painting.
What is commendable is that she also made bold attempts to innovate traditional straw paintings, combining embroidery, painting and other art forms with straw, and created a new craft - straw embroidery, becoming the first person in China to do straw embroidery.
A straw embroidery titled "Good Harvest and Good Luck" shows that the golden, brown, light brown, red, black and other feathers on the rooster are all made of straw. It took three or four years just to collect the straw from all over the country, and another eight months to make it.
The introduction of Ms. Yao Yijia and her works is taken from the article "She is the first person in China to do wheat straw embroidery! It takes hundreds of thousands of wheat straw filaments and a year to make a lifelike "tiger""

Our ancestors have been constantly building civilization and creating culture, whether it is the development of land or the transformation of other materials, they have almost achieved the ultimate. We are a vast country with abundant resources, but the root of this thousand-year glory is that our ancestors were hardworking and brave, and created everything with their own hands.
In addition to straw embroidery, we also have straw painting.
Straw painting, paper cutting and cloth pasting belong to the same category of clipping art. It first appeared in the Sui and Tang dynasties, with a history of more than 1400 years. By the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the skills of straw painting had been relatively perfected, with the emergence of flat pasting techniques such as fumigation, splicing, and weaving, and it was also more widely spread.
The production process of straw painting is complicated. From the stocking of raw materials to the completion of the product, it has to go through about twenty production processes, including material selection, design, and production. The selected straw must be specially planted and harvested manually. After harvesting, the straw must go through the processes of sorting, material selection, soaking, breaking, flattening, peeling, soaking, preservation, steaming, coloring, and splicing. The design is divided into the processes of conception, drawing, steps, decomposition, and plate making. The production mainly includes rubbing production (including parts production), trimming, hot coloring, pasting, assembly, and mounting.
But our ancestors developed many more ways to play with wheat. We also have a wheat weaving technique.
Qin'an straw weaving: Qin'an straw weaving is a traditional handicraft that is popular in Qin'an County, Gansu Province. It has a unique shape and exquisite craftsmanship and is very popular in the market. Qin'an straw weaving has been selected into the second batch of Gansu Province's intangible cultural heritage list.
In 1971, earthenware wicker pots and cups from the Qijia culture of the Neolithic Age were unearthed at Wangmiao Village, Wangyin Township, Qin'an County and Yinjiawan Site, Lianhua Town. Archaeologists believe that these are the earliest prototypes of weaving products produced on this land.
Entering the 21st century, Qin'an straw weaving technique has been transformed on the basis of the original flat weaving tradition. The inheritor Guo Xianglian borrowed the bamboo weaving technique and adopted the net buckle method and winding weaving method to highlight the three-dimensional sense and ornamental value of the finished product.
Among dozens of new products such as hexagonal handbaskets, table mats, chair mats, seat cushions, tea mats, sofa mats, food boxes, fruit boxes, buckets, tea trays, and sets of boxes, the characteristics of arts and crafts are more prominent, and elements with regional characteristics such as zodiac culture, local stories, and good wishes are incorporated, so that handicrafts contain more folk cultural connotations.
Most of the introductions to Qin'an straw weaving come from an article by the Qin'an County People's Government titled "【New Gansu】Selections of Intangible Cultural Heritage | Qin'an Straw Weaving - Flowers of Art Blooming in the Fields"

I'll post pictures when I talk.
By the way, the Lisu people also know how to weave wheat.
I watched an interview with a Lisu woman.
The old lady said that they were poor before, but they also wanted to dress exquisitely and beautifully, so they used wheat straw instead of silver to weave some ornaments to wear on their bodies.
The older generation in many regions probably know how to weave wheat. There are always hard times, but people also want to live a wonderful life. They make the most ordinary things around them into something special, such as bamboo weaving, grass weaving, wheat straw weaving...
