Chapter 200
Chapter 200
Angel.
Koi found himself wondering what his real name was, but he didn’t ask. The name fit him so perfectly that no other name seemed possible. Instead of asking, Koi murmured Angel softly to himself. Angel flashed him a bright smile, then turned and started walking.
With a cigarette now between his lips, he lit it casually and took the lead. Koi followed behind. Everyone they passed turned to look at him—or stared openly in awe. Dressed in a long coat and boots, Angel was slightly shorter than Koi, though still tall, and so slender he looked like a model.
The street they walked down was no different from any other day, but Angel’s presence turned the ordinary into something completely surreal. Watching him walk lightly, almost as if he floated, Koi was still in a daze. He only snapped out of it when he realized how far they’d gone.
“Um, excuse me—wait a second.”
Mustering up the courage to speak, Koi stopped. Angel turned to look at him, and Koi’s heart dropped a little for no reason. He tried to sound calm as he spoke.
“We’ve walked quite a bit... Where are we going? ✪ Nоvеlіgһt ✪ (Official version) It just feels like we’re going a bit far.”
“Why? Is there a reason you need to head back quickly?”
Angel asked with a gentle tone. Koi replied that it wasn’t exactly urgent, and Angel chuckled, turning back around.
“Then we can keep walking a little more. It’s been a while since I’ve been out like this.”
“Oh...”
Though flustered, Koi nodded. Ashley wouldn’t be home for a while anyway, and honestly, this felt better than lazing around. Now that he thought about it, it had been ages since he’d just gone on a purposeless walk like this.
They resumed walking, and it wasn’t long before Angel spoke again.
“When was the last time you went outside? For me, it’s been two months.”
“Two months?!”
Koi repeated in surprise, and Angel smiled lightly, answering as if it were nothing.
“People are always desperate to lock me up. Even now, there are four of them tailing us. They’ve probably already reported back to him. He’s probably on a chopper right now, pissed I’m walking with some guy, wondering who I picked up.”
“Lock you up?”
All of it was shocking, but that was what truly caught Koi off guard. Reflexively glancing behind him, he quickly turned back and asked nervously,
“Is that... okay? Shouldn’t we call the police or something...?”
“Don’t worry. There’s no one on this planet who can keep me locked up.”
Angel exhaled smoke as he said it, his tone unbothered.
“My business here is nearly finished anyway. Time to move on.”
He swept his hair back from his forehead and looked up at Koi.
“When we meet again, pretend you don’t know me. Got it?”
The sudden request made Koi hesitate. Pretend not to know him? He didn’t understand the reason, and he certainly didn’t want to—but Angel’s tone left no room for negotiation.
“Promise me. You’ll never acknowledge me again.”
“Hurry,” he added.
Koi had no choice but to nod and agree. Satisfied, Angel gave him a smile and suddenly tilted his head forward. Their lips touched lightly. Koi’s eyes flew wide open in shock, but Angel simply said,
“Good boy.”
He turned and walked on again. Koi instinctively touched his lips where the kiss had landed, dazed, then rushed to follow. As they walked side by side, Koi became hyper-aware of the stares they drew. But Angel didn’t even blink—like he was used to this.
“Tell me something. If you can’t smell, how have you been managing your pheromones all this time? I’m guessing no one knows you’re an Omega?”
The question came suddenly. Koi hesitated, then nodded.
“...Yeah.”
This translation is the intellectual property of Novelight.
Of course. Even he hadn’t known. Still unsure about everything, Koi added cautiously,
“So... I don’t have any scent, right? How do you know I’m an Omega...?”
“Extreme Omega.”
Angel corrected him, then added,
“If you were just an ordinary Omega, you wouldn’t have felt this kind of bond. But you did, didn’t you? That’s why you chased after me.”
That much was true—but was that really all there was to it? It felt too flimsy. Koi wanted something more concrete. Angel gave a simple reply.
“You know this too—Alphas and Omegas tend to be attractive. Someone who looks like you? No way you’re just a Beta.”
Sure, there were attractive Betas who could be mistaken for Alphas or Omegas, but they were rare. And Koi had never once thought of himself that way, so Angel’s reasoning left him flustered. And face as a basis? Really?
Seeing his confusion, Angel declared confidently,
“Trust me. I don’t kiss ugly people.”
“...Uh. Okay.”
That was all Koi could say. Still, why didn’t he have a pheromone scent? Everyone had always thought he was a Beta.
Because he's an Extreme Omega.
If Angel was right, that would explain it. Extreme Omegas were the only ones who could suppress their pheromones without medication. Extreme Alphas could too—but only temporarily, and the side effects were serious. For Extreme Omegas, it was different. If they wanted, they could hide their identity for their entire lives.
Angel looked at Koi, who was still visibly confused.
“Have you ever had heat symptoms? Feeling flushed? Weak, like you’ve got a cold—but not quite?”
Suddenly, Koi remembered that strange “cold” he’d had before. He explained it honestly, and Angel nodded like it was nothing.
“That was your manifestation. Our manifestation timing isn’t fixed. So don’t worry about your age.”
“That was... a manifestation?”
Koi echoed, shocked again. Angel flicked ash from his half-smoked cigarette.
“It usually happens when you’re emotionally shaken—or after some kind of shock. That’s common. Something must’ve happened then, right?”
That day you looked at me like I was trash.
Ashley’s words flashed in his mind. Had Ashley figured it out? Maybe he’d already caught the pheromones. If Koi really was an Extreme Omega...
Suddenly, Koi felt a spike of anxiety. He still couldn’t fully believe it—but if it were true, then what?
“What’s wrong?”
Seeing Koi go pale, Angel frowned. Koi blinked rapidly and asked,
“U-Um... You’re sure I’m not giving off any scent right now?”
He’d asked before, but had to hear it again. Angel didn’t snap—he simply answered.
“Not a trace.”
That eased the panic slightly—but not completely.
“If I don’t go into a heat cycle, will it stay that way forever...?”
“Maybe. Maybe not.”
The vague answer came just before Angel suddenly placed a hand on Koi’s forehead. Koi froze, but didn’t move. After a moment, Angel pulled his hand back and brought the cigarette to his lips again.
“Your lips felt warm earlier. You’ve got a bit of a fever. No chills or anything? No fatigue or sluggishness?”
“A bit, yeah... since this morning...”
“Your heat cycle’s about to start.”
Angel gave the diagnosis calmly, then added,
“When it hits, you’ll finally realize you’re not a Beta.”
The anxiety surged again. Ashley’s voice echoed in Koi’s head.
I don’t need Omega pheromones.
“If... if it comes—will I be able to hide it?”
Koi asked, hopeful. But Angel shook his head.
“No. Even an Extreme Omega isn’t all-powerful.”
He added without hesitation,
“If you want to hide it, you’ll have to disappear somewhere no one can find you. It’ll be hard, though.”
“Th-Then... is there a way to suppress pheromones regularly? Could you teach me?”
Koi was desperate. He didn’t know how he’d hidden them before—but if he really was an Omega now, he couldn’t imagine how Ashley would react.
Seeing the worry on Koi’s face, Angel thought for a moment, then said,
“The easiest way... yeah. Give yourself a suggestion.”
“A suggestion?”
Angel nodded and explained.
“Think of it like a mantra—‘My pheromones won’t leak.’ Keep repeating it, and it’ll help.”
“Wait, seriously?”
“Why don’t you try it?”
Angel answered playfully, then added, with a cynical tone,
“Just be careful. If that suggestion breaks, the person you least want to notice might end up catching your scent.”
Koi said nothing. He just stared at Angel.
His head felt like it was about to explode.
