Chapter 232 [Empire] The One in My Heart
Chapter 232 [Empire] The One in My Heart
It was three days later when I returned to the villa. Shan Qi was also very busy. He was indeed accompanying me and taking care of me, but he never stopped working. He was unable to send me back to the villa and hurriedly boarded the private starship.
Mr. Li also wanted to follow me, but ended up being asked to take me home.
There were only two of us left in the hovercraft, staring at each other.
Mr. Li looked like he had no place to vent his frustrations, and he didn't know whether to address me or Shan Qi.
He wasn't really angry that I was such a troublemaker, he just felt sorry for Shan Qi and was worried about him.
So we returned to the villa.
Mr. Li didn't come in, but I was a little nervous.
When I returned to the villa, a depressing atmosphere overwhelmed me. As expected, the man's misunderstanding of me had only deepened after I hadn't been home for a few days. The moment he saw me, he started questioning me.
"Where have you been these days? Have you been with him all the time?" His eyes were full of anger and jealousy, as if he could see through me.
Somehow, he smelled the scent of Shan Qi that remained on me, and suddenly he became furious. His eyes widened instantly, filled with anger and jealousy.
"Why do you smell like him? What did you do?" His voice trembled with anger, like an enraged lion.
I was taken aback by his reaction.
I was completely speechless, my heart filled with helplessness and anger. It was true that I had been with Shan Qi, but that didn't mean there was any improper relationship between us.
I emphasized again that Shan Qi was only my caregiver. My tone was firm, hoping he would understand my explanation.
"You really misunderstood. Shan Qi is just a caregiver to me. There is no other relationship between us." I looked at him with sincerity in my eyes.
His expression softened slightly, but he still questioned her. "Then why do you smell like him?"
I sighed helplessly, "It's really just a coincidence. We spent a lot of time together in the hospital, so I might have accidentally picked up his scent."
As expected, he was drawn to the word "hospital" and instantly worried about Shan Qi's condition. His eyes revealed concern and nervousness, a stark contrast to the anger he had just displayed.
"What happened to Shan Qi? Why is he in the hospital?" he asked anxiously.
I quickly explained, "Shan Qi is fine. I'm just feeling a little unwell, and he's taking care of me in the hospital."
He was silent for a moment, seemingly digesting the information. Then, his expression became somewhat complicated.
"Is he, okay?" His voice was a little hoarse.
"He's fine, just a little tired because he's worried about my health." I replied softly.
He breathed a sigh of relief, but there was still a hint of uneasiness in his eyes. "That's good... You should take better care of yourself from now on and don't let him worry about you anymore."
I nodded. "I will. I don't want to tire him out with my own affairs."
He was silent for a moment, as if thinking about something. Then, he slowly said, "You... must take good care of him."
I seemed to sense his inexpressible emotions and longing. The sorrow and longing in his eyes were like a bottomless lake. He stood there, head slightly lowered, hands clasped tightly together, as if trying to control his emotions.
The feeling for Shan Qi is indescribable, yet so strong.
I suddenly felt a little sorry for him, trapped in such deep emotions but unable to get a response.
"Is he... really okay?" he asked again, his voice still a little hoarse.
I replied affirmatively: "It's really okay, don't worry."
He nodded gently, a hint of relief flashing in his eyes, but the sadness still existed.
Then, he returned to the kitchen to prepare the sumptuous dinner that he had every day. He looked a little lonely.
There were soft sounds coming from the kitchen as he expertly chopped vegetables and cooked, as if this was the only way he could find comfort.
I looked towards the kitchen, feeling a wave of emotion. His love was so deep, yet so helpless.
Perhaps for him, preparing a sumptuous dinner for Shan Qi has become a habit, a way of silently protecting him. Even though Shan Qi may not know his feelings, he still persists.
When dinner was ready, he quietly placed the food on the table, with a hint of anticipation in his eyes. Perhaps he was looking forward to Shan Qi's return, looking forward to an opportunity.
But I felt a little sad, and complicated emotions surged in my heart.
What happened? He was clearly living in Shan Qi's villa, so why was he in such a situation?
Does Shan Qi know? Judging from the current situation, it seems that Shan Qi is unaware of what he has done. So what is he waiting for, what is he expecting?
I asked him directly about him and Shan Qi, but he didn't answer.
His eyes became a little complicated, as if he was recalling something, but also seemed to be hiding something. I could sense his inner struggle, the feelings he had for Shan Qi that he was unwilling to touch easily.
But I knew this wouldn't work. They had to at least meet. This stalemate couldn't continue. His feelings would never be conveyed to Shan Qi, and Shan Qi might never know there was someone who loved him so deeply.
I simply took the bowl and chopsticks, sat down, and began to enjoy the dinner he had carefully prepared for Shan Qi, ignoring his rage beside me.
His eyes widened, his face filled with anger, as if he couldn't believe I was so bold. His breathing became rapid, and his hands clenched into fists, as if he might explode at any moment.
However, I didn't care. I knew my behavior might be a little reckless, but I was doing it for their own good. I wanted to get his attention and make him realize that this couldn't go on.
"How could you do this? This is for Shan Qi!" His voice became sharp with anger.
I didn't care and continued to eat the delicious food. "Shan Qi is not here again, such a good dinner can't be wasted." I said as I ate.
He looked at me, his eyes brimming with rage. "You've gone too far!" He turned and tried to leave the kitchen.
I called out to him, "Don't go, we can eat together. Maybe Dan Qi will be back soon."
He stopped but didn't look back. "You don't understand." His voice was low, but filled with sadness.
Gradually, he let out a sob. The subtle sound was particularly clear in the quiet space, and it made people's hearts clench.
His shoulders trembled slightly, as if he was trying to control his emotions. That choked sob contained so many emotions: helplessness, pain, longing, and deep attachment.
I stopped what I was doing and looked at him quietly. I didn't know what to say to comfort him, because I knew that at this moment, any words would be pale and powerless.
He sat down slowly, trying hard to control his emotions, but tears still flowed down his face. He covered his face with his hands, trying to hide his vulnerability.
I gently put down my chopsticks and walked over to him, patting his shoulder. He didn't resist, but just let the tears flow.
