Chapter 203 [Empire] My Heart
Chapter 203 [Empire] My Heart
Is my heart big or small? In this dim, enclosed space, I examine my inner self.
My heart is so big that it holds so many people from different worlds and different times and spaces.
My heart is very big, so big that I am fickle and have loved many people.
Those people have entered my life at different times, mostly staying only briefly, leaving behind the occasional memory. I never thought I could easily fall in love with someone, then let go so easily. Yet, as I wander through this world, I've never truly stayed for anyone, whether I left on my own initiative or was forced to separate. Never. My heart is like a shapeless, boundless expanse of the ocean, allowing fish to come and go, seemingly able to accommodate countless waves. Because I know that at a certain point in time, no matter how deeply affectionate or close two people are, they will eventually embark on their own journeys. And how many routes, how many distances, can two people's lives overlap?
My heart is very small, so small that I only want to lock on one person, lock on him, and lock on myself.
His presence, like the brightest star in the night sky, illuminates the corners of my heart. I long to hold him tightly, to intertwine our destinies. This longing is so intense that it shrinks my heart, narrow and focused, with room only for him. His appearance feels like an accident, yet also like destiny.
Yet, many similar figures have appeared in my life. Many people have made me mistake them for "him." They're like actors taking turns on stage, one after the other...
I gently handed the blue-purple fruit in my hand to him and looked into his still red and swollen eyes: "This is a fruit that will enhance your abilities."
He was slightly startled, looking at the fruit in my hand with a hint of doubt in his eyes. I patiently explained, "This fruit will be of great help to you. You know my power, right? Take small sips and gradually get used to its power."
He hesitated for a moment, then slowly reached out and took the fruit. His fingers gently touched the smooth surface of the fruit, as if he was feeling the power contained in it through the touch of his skin.
"Don't be anxious, just feel the changes slowly." I continued, "If you feel uncomfortable, tell me immediately."
The fruit tasted strange, with a hint of sweetness and a subtle bitterness. He frowned slightly, but soon adjusted to the taste. He chewed slowly, feeling the energy emanating from the fruit in his mouth.
I touched his head, my eyes lingering over him, watching him eat the blue-purple fruit, searching for any subtle changes in him.
His changes were immediately apparent. I noticed his pupils were becoming increasingly purple. I remembered the purple pupils he'd developed when he used his charm ability. I guessed this was related to the charm. That deep purple seemed to hold an endless mystery. His eyes, already beautiful, now took on an even more alluring allure.
At the same time, his hair seemed to have grown a little longer and lighter in color. The originally black hair now had a hint of silver, which shimmered faintly under the dim oil lamp.
I watched him quietly, my heart filled with amazement. This world, whether plants or orcs, is so sensitive to these things. Just one blue fruit can cause such a huge change.
He seemed to sense something was different about himself, and he looked up at me with his purple eyes, filled with confusion, a bewildered, naive, and somewhat endearing look. I couldn't help but laugh and gave him encouragement with my eyes.
