Chapter 23 Radish
Chapter 23 Radish
After entering the fairy tale world, Xia Shiyu proceeded directly according to the route provided by the system.
She realized that the system must have used some kind of space folding technology, otherwise it would be impossible for all these task points to be so close to her, especially since she could freely choose the seeds later on, it would be quite troublesome to find them one by one.
However, following the route given by the system, she took a few steps and found that the space around her seemed to be changing. But after thinking about it, she didn't care too much. After all, the system was powerful, and this was nothing to it.
She arrived at another mushroom house with her tools. It seemed that most of the buildings here were also mushroom houses, quite monotonous. It looked like the construction team for Animal Town was the same one.
She knocked on the door with her right hand, and after two knocks, the door opened automatically. Xia Shiyu walked in curiously, but felt as if she had passed through a thin mist and arrived in another place in the blink of an eye.
She looked closely and saw that the place was still very lively and spacious, unlike the scene inside and outside a house. Instead, she was taken to another location directly through the mushroom door.
Xia Shiyu looked around and found that there were rabbits in front of him. Two or three of them were hopping around arranging tables and chairs, while a few that looked older were gathered together directing the other rabbits to move something.
Xia Shiyu was both puzzled and intrigued. This was the first time she had seen so many animals, all of them of the same kind, while completing a task involving these animals.
Just as she was thinking about finding the rabbit to receive her mission, a rabbit hopped towards her with a red ribbon tied around its head.
He skipped over and greeted Xia Shiyu, then explained his request.
"Hello, dear neighbor, I'm Xiaobai, the one who posted this task."
Xia Shiyu looked at the rabbit, which only reached her knees. Although it looked quite big, it was still rather small compared to her.
She quickly squatted down and asked, "Hello, Xiaobai, what tasks do I need to complete this time?"
When she asked that question, she already suspected it might be related to harvesting.
However, what Xiaobai soon told her was completely opposite to what she had expected.
"I want you to be the head chef of our rabbit family," Little White said earnestly.
Xia Shiyu was somewhat surprised, "Head Chef?"
This means she needs to cook.
"Yes, my niece has a competition with the turtle's baby turtle today, and I'd like you to help us cook. The reward is radish seeds."
"Okay," Xia Shiyu agreed quickly, though she was a little surprised. She was even a little excited that she could actually see the real Tortoise and the Hare race. She just didn't know if the ending would be the same as in the fable.
Xia Shiyu thought about staying to watch the game later, so she quickly got up and walked towards the kitchen that the rabbits had set up.
Chef Xia is about to take over!
When Xia Shiyu arrived at the place, he took a closer look but was dumbfounded. There was nothing but radishes.
There weren't even many seasonings left. Xia Shiyu approached the rabbit-like kitchen helpers nearby and asked, "Hello, don't you have any seasonings here? Do you still have radishes?"
The rabbits tilted their heads and thought for a moment, then began to whisper among themselves.
"It seems like there are only radishes here."
"Yes, yes, there's nothing else here."
"We can bring over the seasonings, but the other dishes are really not up to par."
"Where can we find any? We usually eat raw food, but we can only have cooked food now that the new people have come. There's nothing else available."
Xia Shiyu was at her wit's end, so she asked the system, "003, can I use the seasonings and ingredients from my own home?"
The system paused for a moment, then finally made an exception, saying, "The host can only use radishes as the main ingredient."
Xia Shiyu agreed and went back to her home to find the ingredients. After taking some basic seasonings, she looked around and grabbed half a bag of flour before heading to the fairy tale world.
Now she didn't need to look for a way anymore; she was teleported directly to Little White's kitchen. The other rabbits weren't surprised to see her suddenly appear carrying a bag of things.
Instead, they curiously gathered around, asking, "What should we do? Do you need our help?"
Xia Shiyu watched as the rabbits surrounded him, and couldn't resist touching their fur, which felt very comfortable.
The rabbit she had touched looked at her with a bewildered expression, and she couldn't help but laugh.
"Just help me pull out the white radishes and wash them clean. Oh, and also, start a fire," Xia Shiyu added after looking around and not finding any firewood.
"Oh, you want to start a fire? This is convenient." After saying that, a black rabbit took out a red fruit from somewhere and threw it under the iron pot. Instantly, a flame rose from the bottom of the iron pot.
Xia Shiyu looked at the black rabbit's movements with some surprise, and then heard him say nonchalantly, "Just use the Flame Fruit, it's very convenient."
Xia Shiyu was stunned. This was a fairy tale world where anything could happen; you could even start a fire without firewood.
Moreover, the Flame Fruit is indeed quite convenient; you just need to smash it under the iron pot. After seeing the fire start, Xia Shiyu started adding water. Fortunately, there were three iron pots, which made it convenient to cook white radishes, although it took a little longer to cook them.
Xia Shiyu asked the rabbits about their tastes before making the food.
"Can you eat salt, chili peppers, and fried food?"
In her mind, animals like rabbits in the real world couldn't eat high-oil and high-salt foods, as it would put a heavy burden on their digestive systems. But now, in the world of fairy tales, she was a little confused about the standards.
"Yes, we can eat a little bit, but we don't eat oily food. The regular kind is fine."
The rabbits stated their own standards.
Xia Shiyu listened carefully and then decided on the dishes she wanted to make. She planned to make radish buns, white radish soup, and stir-fried radish leaves, etc. Firstly, the situation did not allow for more, and secondly, the situation was convenient.
The only tricky part was picking up the buns. The rabbits looked at each other, none of them knowing how to wrap them.
Xia Shiyu chuckled as she looked at their short claws, knowing that she could only rely on herself.
Fortunately, she counted them and there were only a dozen or so; any more and she would have had a real hard time.
Xia Shiyu's main skill is making steamed buns; the other two don't require much effort.
After kneading the dough, start wrapping it into big buns. You're guaranteed to be half full after eating just one.
While Xia Shiyu was cooking, the racecourse for the tortoise and the hare was almost set up, and Xiao Bai was giving instructions to his nephew.
"You can't let your guard down later. You can't lose to those turtles. The reward for this mission is the newest flavor of carrots. I heard they were just cultivated and they're delicious. You can't lose to them."
"Yes, yes, I'll do my best." My niece, Xiao Hei, nodded vigorously. She was determined not to lose to that silly turtle.
"Good, that's my good nephew, keep it up!"
