Chapter 323 Confusion
"After you were trapped..."
Bai Ke recounted in detail what happened after Feng Yu was trapped inside the Brahma Bell, leaving Feng Yu stunned and occasionally making exaggerated expressions.
"Then I helped Elder Lin repair his Dao foundation, and his cultivation naturally returned to its peak level."
Bai Ke stopped talking at this point, staring at Feng Yu with a helpless expression, clearly meaning—I'm done talking, are you satisfied now?
"Do you have any more of this holy water? Give me a jar too! I want to try it!"
At this moment, Feng Yu was no longer concerned about Lin Yun's recovery of his cultivation. Instead, he looked expectantly at the Azure Sky Ring on his thumb, almost drooling!
"You think that's wine? A whole jar! I'll get you a bottle sometime later." Bai Ke rolled his eyes at Feng Yu, then walked towards the unconscious Tian Xin, instructing Feng Yu as he did so:
"You and Elder Lin get ready. We'll cross the river later and explore the red mountains and towers on the other side."
"Alright! Uncle Lin, from now on we'll be working for this brat together! Here, take this, open your own treasure!"
Feng Yu patted Lin Yun on the shoulder with an excited expression, took out the Seven-Colored Glass Boat from her storage bag, and handed it to him.
Lin Yun ignored him and kicked him in the backside without hesitation, coldly cursing:
"You little brat, you want me to do hard labor? Get back to the startup and stop talking nonsense!"
Feng Yu made an exaggerated expression, vigorously rubbing the spot where he had been kicked, groaning and not daring to argue back. He could only run to the Black River and start fiddling with the colorful glass boat.
Meanwhile, Bai Ke had already infused Tian Xin with spiritual energy to awaken her.
Tian Xin slowly woke up and opened her eyes, but what came into view was the face of the culprit who had shocked her into unconsciousness!
"Bai Ke! Stay away from me!"
She panicked, her body shivering uncontrollably, and she pushed herself up to sit back.
Seeing this, Bai Ke quickly stepped forward to support her, putting on what he thought was a kind expression and gently patting her back to try and calm her agitated emotions.
Tian Xin looked tense, forcefully shaking off Bai Ke's hand. Two streams of tears involuntarily flowed from her eyes as she pointed at Bai Ke and cried out:
"Don't touch me! You vicious devil! Where is Elder Gong Yu? Did you kill him?"
“Yes. He’s dead. I crushed his head and destroyed his soul,” Bai Ke replied with a smile.
Tian Xin looked shocked, covering her mouth and staring wide-eyed at Bai Ke, her eyes filled with disbelief.
He showed absolutely none of the emotions or expression one would expect after killing someone!
There was no fear, no guilt, no tension, no lingering apprehension; it was as if nothing had happened!
His response to Tian Xin was as smooth and natural as if he had eaten and said yes, as commonplace as if he had been asked if he had eaten.
But it was precisely this calm and composed expression that made him all the more terrifying and frightening in Tian Xin's eyes!
How could this be the behavior of an eighteen-year-old boy?
Tian Xin's expression was bitter. Facing Bai Ke's clear eyes, she felt a chill in her heart. She let her hands fall limply, gave a cold laugh, and said in despair:
"Heh, that's true. Back in Moyun Kingdom, you already showed your fangs and slaughtered Gong Yu and his group. Now I've witnessed your brutality firsthand. What is Gong Yu then? He's just a piece of cake for you."
"Thank you for the compliment! These are just little things, nothing to brag about, hahaha."
Bai Ke seemed genuinely pleased with the praise, his eyes sparkling with excitement, yet he wore a shy expression on his face, making him appear like a naive young man.
Tian Xin was already numb. She knew perfectly well that Bai Ke's kind behavior was nothing but a disguise. He was a devil in sheep's clothing!
"Now, it's my turn, isn't it? Kill me, and no one will expose your harm to the sect elders. Haha, go ahead and do it!"
Tian Xin immediately closed her eyes, adopting a posture of facing death without fear.
Bai Ke shook his head and smiled.
He stepped forward and helped Tian Xin up, then adopted a serious expression and said:
"What are you talking about? You're my Aunt Tian Xin! How could I kill you? Don't overthink it!"
Upon hearing this, Tian Xin abruptly opened her eyes and met Bai Ke's gaze. The sincerity and warmth in his eyes made Tian Xin's heart tremble. She quickly lowered her head and asked hesitantly:
"So what do you want to do with me?"
"Sigh, you're overthinking it. What's with all this talk about punishment..." Bai Ke sighed, leaned forward affectionately, put his arm around Tian Xin's shoulder, patted her gently, and continued:
“That old scoundrel Gong Yu has a crooked background and practices evil arts to harm our sect. He deserves to die! I will report this matter truthfully, so you don’t need to worry. Now, let’s finish exploring this ancient ruins first.”
As Bai Ke spoke, he stared into Tian Xin's eyes and activated the Supreme Sea Technique, carefully controlling this divine power so that it would not cause harm but could bewitch people.
Tian Xin's resolve wavered, but it wasn't enough.
Bai Ke then activated the Demon Seed in His Dao Heart. As soon as this highly proficient divine ability was unleashed, Tian Xin's eyes immediately became glazed over.
Unbeknownst to her, Tian Xin's mindset had changed. Her prejudice against Bai Ke was no longer so deep, and her emotions were no longer so extreme.
She was gradually being drawn into Bai Ke's rhythm. At this moment, her mind was in turmoil, and she said whatever came to mind. Now, she frowned and looked at Bai Ke, asking:
"What evidence do you have to support your claim?"
"Of course, that Gong Yu..."
Bai Ke was about to explain to Tian Xin when Feng Yu's shouts came from afar across the ravine:
"Hey kid, are you done yet? The boat's all set up, let's get going!"
"Okay, come over now."
Bai Ke replied, then shrugged and looked at Tian Xin, saying, "This mission is quite important and time is tight. I'll explain it to you slowly on the way, okay?"
Tian Xin nodded in agreement, and Bai Ke then led her towards Feng Yu.
Although she still had lingering doubts and her heart would involuntarily tremble whenever she saw Bai Ke's gaze, her attitude towards Bai Ke had changed dramatically.
Thinking this, Bai Ke had already brought her to the edge of the ravine. Feng Yu and Lin Yun were sitting on a small boat that shimmered with seven-colored light, and there were still a lot of empty seats on the boat.
"Hurry up, we're in a hurry," Feng Yu urged, waving her hand.
Without saying a word, Bai Ke leaped up with Tian Xin in tow...
